LOVE.
It’s Valentine’s Day, and I thought I would share one of my all-time favorite quotes on love & marriage which happens to be from the movie Shall We Dance starring Richard Gere and Jennifer Lopez. The quote is actually spoken by Gere’s wife in the movie played by Susan Sarandon. It’s a great reminder that love is about so much more than a box of chocolates or a dozen overpriced long stem roses.
Susan’s character was asked why she thought people got married….
Because we need a witness to our lives. There are a billion people on the planet. What does any life really mean, but in a marriage you’re promising to care about everything–the good things, the bad things, the terrible things, the mundane things–all of it, all the time. You’re saying your life will not go unnoticed because I will notice. Your life will not go unwitnessed because I will be your witness. I’ve got your back.

I remember that line from the movie – definitely struck a chord with me as well!! And what an adorable photo. Wishing you a wonderful Valentine’s Day with someone who is a witness to your life!!
