At Home with Elaine Griffin
I’ve been wanting to feature Elaine Griffin on ZR for some time now, so when I finally read the May issue of Elle Decor I was thrilled to see Elaine’s Harlem brownstone featured. And, let me assure you, you are going to love Elaine’s mix of high and low to create a warm and welcoming home for her husband, Michael McGarry, who she met through online dating. You’ll have to pick up the issue of Elle Decor to see how things progressed for those two, it’s a really cute story.
For those of you who may not know, Elaine Griffin has been a prominent New York City interior designer for well over a decade and her work has been featured in publications like Oprah’s O at Home and the New York Times. And in her first book, Design Rules, Elaine shares her best decorating and styling tips emphasizing her design credo that ” it’s pretentious to decorate a home based solely on names.”
