All About Rachel

In 2005, Rachel launched Rachel Roy and in six short years has become a household name designing feminine yet modern clothes. My girlfriends and I were talking recently about Rachel’s meteoric rise and were curious about how Rachel successfully navigated the unbelievably challenging world of fashion so quickly.

The story goes that after college in Washington, DC, Rachel moved to New York City to pursue her dream of becoming a fashion designer by working as a stylist for magazines and music videos, but eventually got her big break designing clothes for the hip hop label, Rocawear. Soon after, she launched Rachel Roy New York and the most influential woman in America called and Rachel presented her collection on Oprah’s show and the rest is history. Now Rachel’s designs are worn by everyone from First Ladies to Beverly Hills housewives.

In 2007, Rachel was inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers and has since launched a successful diffusion line, RACHEL Rachel Roy and regularly makes in-store appearances to the delight of her growing legion of fans. Rachel is the mother of two beautiful daughters and is heavily involved philanthropically with OrphanAid for Africa, but somehow she found the time to collaborate on fashion projects with model Jessica Stam and pro basketball player, Amaré Stoudemire. For sure, Rachel’s energy and creative are truly inspiring to working women everywhere.

Rachel’s a style star and because of her supermodel good looks women clamour to know her beauty secrets, so she’s regularly featured in magazine profiles revealing her favorite finds and must-have beauty essentials. To get to know the talented Rachel in her own words, keep reading:
