South African Style

In six short years, South African interior designer John Jacob Zwiegelaar has established himself on the international design scene by creating contemporary interiors for a who’s who of rock stars and royalty. In addition, John has designed commercially for legendary South African wineries and game reserves. John is so dedicated to creating personalized interiors that he scours the globe for his clients to find that special object or he’ll custom design furniture for them in his studio. Two years ago, John completed the interiors for this home on a quiet cul-de-sac in the heart of Cape Town and I thought you might like to take a peek inside.

Inspired by the garden’s intense green foliage, John removed the home’s windows and replaced them with french doors and chose a soft palette of greys and soft greens to compliment the views outside. His love for French antiques and Pierre Frey fabrics is on display in every room giving this Cape Town home a South African meets classic European style.
