Pre-Fall 2012: Louis Vuitton
To bookend yesterday’s Marc Jacobs profile, I thought you might enjoy a sneak peek at Louis Vuitton’s pre-fall collection that he and design director Julie de Libran created using famed Le Corbusier designer and style maven Charlotte Perriand as muse. I know, I know, we’ve barely had any signs of a real winter and spring is not even close on the calendar, but fashion never sleeps and this way you’ll have a head start on the colorways, silhouettes and trends to figure out what to keep, store or toss this fall.
Overall, the Louis Vuitton collection was prim and proper with a 1940s feel, but there were some unexpected, yet interesting quirks like fur pockets, buckled coats, spiked heel booties, Stephen Sprouse leopard, and even cap-toe kitten heels that made the collection modern and fashion-forward for today.
“I think the Louis Vuitton woman wants to be seen, she wants to be noticed.”
