Simply White

“The funny thing about white is that people get scared of it, but when you have enough white in a room an interesting thing happens optically…not only can it be incredibly calming and soothing, but white tends to suppress the eyes desire to pick up little imperfections.”

KELLY BEHUN is a New York interior designer who got her start as a member of hotelier Ian Schrager’s design team. Since that time, Kelly has become an authority on decorating with white and has developed a signature style that is a study in contrasts, textures and subtle variations. I’ve also noticed that her all-white projects include at least one room where she experiments with color. For this midtown pied-à-terre, the touch of color choice was a vibrant yellow in her client’s kitchen.
