Armando Morales
Deux Femmes nus avec deux monsieurs et une fontaine
Oil on wood, 1981
When I mentioned that I was interested in figurative drawings a while back, Maria, a regular Zavvi Rodaine reader suggested that I explore the work of Nicaraguan master artist ARMANDO MORALES. It turns out that Armando was one of the most important Latin American artists known for his landscapes and figurative abstract paintings in subtle tones and impasto technique. Armando’s works are currently on display at Harvard, Princeton and at the Organization of American States in Washington, DC, but I thought I’d share a few of my favorites with a special thanks to Maria for teaching me something new.
