Steven Volpe

I loved when San Francisco interior designer Steven Volpe said this…

“Luxury is living a simple, elegant and responsible life. Luxury is a reduction. We want to live elegantly but we need to be responsible about how we treat the environment.”

And I have to thank one of Zavvi Rodaine’s favorite tastemakers Nam Dang Mitchell for encouraging me to take a second look at Steven’s portfolio. One of my favorite projects was this London townhouse that Steven designed for a growing family originally featured in Elle Decor a couple of years ago.

WHAT I LOVE: The Jacques Adnet mirrors over the fireplace and the K.L. daybed.

WHAT I LOVE: The Maison Leleu lacquer console and Scottish mahogany chairs.

WHAT I LOVE: The banquette covered in Clarence House rust colored velvet.

WHAT I LOVE: The Mattia Bonetti console in the drawing room.

WHAT I LOVE: The Emery + Cie glazed tiles behind the stove and the black leather bar stools.

WHAT I LOVE: The navy curtains and the David Hicks-style graphic rug.

WHAT I LOVE: The navy sectional and the painting by Carlo de Roover.

WHAT I LOVE: Fortuny fabrics on the bed and the shades of lavender + purple.

WHAT I LOVE: The modern bookcase mixed with a 1960’s stool.

WHAT I LOVE: The Tom Dixon bookcase and the orange + blue color scheme.
