White House Christmas 2012

The White House Gingerbread House

The holiday season has officially kicked off in Washington with the unveiling of the WHITE HOUSE holiday decorations. This year’s decorations celebrating Joy To All is my favorite of the Obama administration. The theme features handmade decorations, recycled ornaments, lush wreaths and greenery, tributes to military families and previous first ladies.

Paper banners by Jami Darwin Chiang dedicated to America’s military families.

Wreath covered windows in the East Room corridor.

Stained glass created by Chicago artisan David Lee Csicsko.

Arches in the Lower Cross Hall are made of recycled White House ornaments.
