In São Paolo
One of my girlfriends is a news presenter in Brazil, so she’s tapped into what’s hot there. A while ago she sent me a list of Brazilian designers I should check out and she was especially enthusiastic about MAURICIO KARAM. As always, BFFs know best, Mauricio designed this apartment in São Paolo and I like its modern comfort with hints of whimsy aesthetic. The concrete wall is rough and masculine, but it’s softened by the plushness of the sofa, the round tables and candlesticks. Art and sculptures mix with whimsical pieces like the oil barrel bar, wire chair and the vintage typewriter in the office. Mauricio is definitely one to watch.
