Paris Fashion Week Fall 2015

PARIS FASHION WEEK. So much to love, so much to truly scratch your head over and often, unfortunately, the fashion elite allowed their hero worship to get in the way of honest critiques. But it’s Paris, after all, and avant garde vibes are to be expected. Surprisingly, the confidence shown by young designers like Alexander Wang at BALENCIAGA and Olivier Rousteing at BALMAIN proved exciting while several of fashion’s heroes desperately limped along. For all the Parisian sophistication we’re taught to expect, there was a decidedly bohemian aesthetic running through many collections and I’m wondering when we’ll move on from that rhapsody. For my money, the designers who were daring and innovative with fabrics, embellishments and textural layering were the ones moving the fashion needle forward.
