Contemplating Corsica

karl fournier8Admittedly, most of what I know about the Mediterranean island of Corsica, I learned from photographer Garance Dore since she writes lovingly about growing up there. However, this beach house featured in the June issue of Vogue has me seriously contemplating a visit for its beauty and peacefulness.

Previously used for animal stables and storage, the home was renovated by French architects Karl Fournier and Olivier Marty of STUDIO KO. The duo is known for their ability to blend history and culture with modern aesthetics and this home is a great example of their talent.

The photographs by François Halard capture an idyllic hideaway where you can throw open the windows, relax on the wisteria-covered patio, and contemplate life’s mysteries without a care in the world.
