The Beauty of Baking Soda

baking-soda-powderBAKING SODA is another ancient beauty secret that’s been handed down for generations. Over the years, I’ve added BAKING SODA to my beauty routine to solve various issues, here are the best ones.

S o f  t • S k i n
Add 1 cup baking soda to a warm bath
Soak 20 minutes

B o d y • E x f o l i a t o r
Mix 2 parts baking soda + 1 part ground oatmeal + 1 part water to make a paste. Apply to skin in a circular motion then rinse with warm water and moisturize

F a c i a l • S c r u b
Mix 3 parts baking soda + 1 part warm water to make a paste.
Apply to face, gently scrub and rinse with warm water.

F o o t • S o a k
Add 1/2 cup baking soda to a warm foot bath and soak feet for 15 minutes.
Use a pumice stone to gently remove calluses and hard skin.

H a i r • C l a r i f i e r
Add 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda to shampoo and wash as usual.

S c a l p • B u i l d – u p • R e m o v e r
Wet hair then massage 1 teaspoon of baking soda on your scalp
then shampoo as normal.

I n s e c t • B i t e s
Mix 1 teaspoon baking soda + 1/2 teaspoon water to make a paste
then spot treat insect bites before rinsing thorougly

S m e l l y • S h o e s
Pour a teaspoon of baking soda inside your sneakers to absorb odors overnight
then shake out and wear again.

T e e t h • W h i t e n e r
Mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda +5 drops hydrogen peroxide then brush onto teeth
Let sit 5 minutes, rinse with water, then brush with toothpaste.
Once per week.

Y e l l o w • N a i l s
Mix 1 part baking soda with 3 drops hydrogen peroxide to form a paste.
Apply to nails, sit 10 minutes then rinse with warm water
Once every 3 months.
