If a picture is worth a thousand words and we live in an Instagram society of filters, can we still read a photographer’s image to understand why they chose a certain angle, or composition, or level of light? What’s real or imagined posthaste? I’m fascinated by the work of lifestyle photographers with a strong visual aesthetic for their ability to draw us into a space and allow us to dream.
Swedish photographer MAGNUS MARDING is a current favorite and here are five rooms he lensed that I love for his utilization of natural light and his ability to capture a plethora of detail even beyond the room, so that we get a true sense of what it’s really like to live there.
