Kerry James Marshall
KERRY JAMES MARSHALL is a prolific African American artist whose most identifiable work for the past 20 years has been about black history, so his recent works based on Rorscharch inkblots has longtime followers and collectors of Marshall’s art scratching their heads in amazement. Marshall says he’s doing untitled inkblots to confuse the idea of abstraction and introduce a dramatic way of looking and seeing. If you’re in the New York City area, Marshall’s latest exhibition Mastry just opened at the Met Breur and will be on view through January 2017.
