Symbols of Hospitality

In the early days of America, pineapples were shipped from the Caribbean islands to the states, so they were quite rare and expensive, and only the wealthiest hostesses could afford them. For parties, Southern hostesses would use pineapples as centerpieces on their buffet tables and soon the pineapple became a symbol of friendship and hospitality that continues today.

Since several of you have asked us to reveal secret sources or where to find some of the cool things you see on Instagram, we thought it apropo to start with this highly-coveted PINEAPPLE COCKTAIL SHAKER — one of the most instagrammed items on the planet. Available here and here.
