Tricia Guild
British interior designer TRICIA GUILD famously uses her London home as a lab to test her trademark designs, so when I received an advanced copy of her book Colors, Patterns, and Space, I was intrigued. Intrigued because I don’t live with much bright color or bold pattern in my own home and I wanted to learn from a designer who has mastered the art of creative color in fabrics, wallpapers, home furnishings and interior design over a 40 year career.
What I was surprised to learn is that color and geometric pattern are just as at home in a French chateau as they are in a New York loft. In fact Colors, Patterns, and Space deconstructs fourteen projects from concept to reality.
My favorite interiors were the pared-back designs that managed to incorporate a mix of color and pattern in that distinctive Tricia Guild way.
