Man of Style: James Bond

I’ve never been a huge fan of franchise movies, but as a girl who has always loved a great spy movie, I remain a huge fan of the British MI-6 agent JAMES BOND. Throughout the years, the formula of handsome agent + gorgeous girls + ruthless villain + exotic locales has worked brilliantly because all the men who’ve played James Bond have that swagger that impresses men and a sexiness that makes women swoon. And the fact that James Bond saves the world is icing on the cake!

Men of style could learn a thing or two from James Bond. No matter who has played him there are several consistent elements to James Bond’s style: the classic tuxedo (Savile Row, Brioni), the tailored suit (Tom Ford), simple daywear (polo shirts, cashmere sweaters, leather jackets), sleek shoes (Church’s, John Lobb), the cool sunglasses (Persol), the luxe watch (Rolex, Omega), and of course, the ultimate I-know-I’m-the-man car… his Aston Martin or BMW.

As the James Bond franchise celebrates its 50th anniversary with the upcoming release of Skyfall on November 9th, I thought it would be fun to look back at the style of the world’s coolest spy…007!

Sir Roger Moore

“I take ridiculous pleasure in what I eat and drink.”

Sean Connery

“Don’t think, just let it happen.”

Timothy Dalton

“There’s always something formal about the point of a pistol.”

Pierce Brosnan

Oh, I travel…a sort of licensed troubleshooter.”

Daniel Craig

“Why is that people who can’t take advice always insist on giving it?”

Editors Note: I do not condone violence, but I did not scrub the gun from photos because the character is…after all…a spy…trying to save the world.
