In Rome: The Pantheon

Continuing our little tour of Rome, I thought I’d share a few snapshots of the oldest church in Rome, the Santa Maria della Rotunda or Pantheon. Built over 2000 years ago, its an amazing structure to study and one of the most popular tourist destinations in Rome. It’s a tomb where several kings, queens and Italian artists are buried and its a church known for spiritually moving celebrations. Here’s a tip: If you can, visit once during the day and again in the early evening when the crowds have thinned out a bit and the light dances through the oculus.
