Kara Mann’s Chicago
There’s just something about KARA MANN the ultra-chic Chicago interior designer who’s been on every “It” list from InStyle to Vogue to Western Interiors. Since opening her design firm in 2005, Kara has worked with a diverse international client list who appreciate Kara’s knack for combining fashion and art with edgy design to create rooms that stand the test of time.
A longtime fan of Kara’s effortless style, I asked Kara to share what she loves most about her hometown of Chicago.
TRULY UNIQUE CHICAGO EXPERIENCES
Chicago is such a vibrant city in so many ways – there’s inspiration and an experience to be had around every corner starting with…
A walk through Millennium Park on Michigan Avenue.
A viewing of the latest exhibits in the Modern Wing at The Art Institute and the Museum of Contemporary Art.
A walk along the 18-mile Lakefront Trail is a great way to see the city.
And of course a trip to Wrigley Field for a Cubs game.
WHERE TO EAT
Avec continues to be an all-time favorite.
The Publican has been a truly innovative restaurant for almost a decade.
The Pump Room in the Public Hotel is also a good bet.
And I love the Café at Ikram for a healthy, fresh lunch.
WHERE TO SLEEP
Ian Schrager’s PUBLIC is a beautiful space in a convenient location with a great crowd and great vibe.
The Park Hyatt has beautiful views and excellent service.
And one can never argue with The Peninsula!
WHERE TO SHOP
Ikram (of course) the ultra-chic fashion boutique for the best of the best in fashion.
And the Chicago icon Blake for another incredible collection of women’s fashion.
