In Plein Air

One of my favorite summer sightings while driving around Washington, DC and Virginia are the many artists painting outdoors in the open air. It’s not surprising that artists would want to capture all the historical landmarks and incredible views that DC and VA have to offer, but I’m always curious about what they’re painting and want to stop, but I never do because I wouldn’t want to ruin their creative flow. Nevertheless, I am a bit envious because painting in the open air seems like the perfect way to spend a summer afternoon.
