At Home with Tabitha Simmons
“I have a penchant for Victorian, military and 1940’s references, which I translate in a modern vocabulary. Eccentricity and functionality are my key points.”
TABITHA SIMMONS is known for vibrant shoe collections that add an unexpected fierceness to any ensemble. Tabitha is a fashion stylist and editor by trade, but her passion was always shoes, so four years ago she designed her first collection and now she’s the talk of the town and the winner of a CFDA Award.
Last year, François Halard photographed Tabitha’s home for Vogue and in addition to the home’s charm and elegance, here’s what I loved most about Tabitha’s stylish Chelsea townhouse.
WHAT I LOVE: The Rug Company butterfly rug + oversized glass + steel pane doors in the living room.
WHAT I LOVE: The carved bone Victorian mirror in the master bedroom.
WHAT I LOVE: The Tom Dixon Paper Star Light hanging lamp + canopy bed in the master bedroom.
WHAT I LOVE: What’s not to love about a massive collection of designer shoes?
WHAT I LOVE: The puppet theater bunk beds in her kids’ room.
WHAT I LOVE: The sleek open-air kitchen.
WHAT I LOVE: A gorgeous roof deck landscaped by Miranda Brooks.
WHAT I LOVE: Mallorcan Ikat pillows + the outdoor living room.
WHAT I LOVE: The massive glass + steel wall of windows.
