Miles Davis Doodles
“It’s like therapy for me, and it keeps my mind occupied when I’m not playing music.”
Jazz legend MILES DAVIS will always be considered the “father of fusion jazz”, but very few know that in the last decade of his life he became a dedicated visual artist. As a child, Miles would sketch comic books, but in his later years his wife Cicely Tyson encouraged him to take his painting more seriously and Miles spent hours every day drawing, painting and perfecting each canvas. He dabbled in various genres of art, but, in my opinion, was most successful as an abstract artist because Miles’ abstracts were his most complex and thought-provoking.
