Kerri Rosenthal

kerriKERRI ROSENTHAL has a zest for life that is infectious, but it was only after becoming a full-time mom that Kerri discovered her life’s passion for creating masterpieces on canvas. One evening Kerri had an “aha” moment and the very next day she took action. A year later, with the support of her family and friends, Kerri produced her first solo exhibition and the rest, as they say, is (art) history.

KERRI’S STORY

I stopped working when I had my second child and became a full time mom. It was rewarding but I was missing something, I didn’t feel fulfilled. I was out to dinner one night and was mesmerized by a gorgeous painting hanging on the wall. The next day I went to the art store and bought supplies and started painting in my windowless basement. I painted for the next year and studied every artist that inspired me. I hung the paintings on my walls and friends in the design business would tell me that I should sell my work. I never took an art class, never picked up a paint brush, never even liked coloring when I was a kid and yet this exploded out of me, like I’d been painting my whole life. I got up the courage to have a show in my town. I invited 200 friends, designers, gallery owners, etc. Most of my paintings sold that night and I was off and running. Since then, I have a thriving business which is continuing to grow with Pinterest and Instagram. I built a proper studio, above ground, with windows! and my house is a gallery of my work where clients come daily. I wake up and love my life. I am a mom, wife and business owner and yet if you love what you are doing, it doesn’t feel like a business. This is the lesson I am passing on to my children. Love what you do and you will never work a day in your life.

So inspiring. I’m a new mom and I feel guilty sometimes about wanting more out of life…but your story, Kerri has inspired me to go for my dreams. Thank you!
