Faith Is Taking The First Step
Everyone, including me, quotes DR. KING’S:
Faith is taking the first step, even when you don’t see the whole staircase.
But I’ve often wondered from which speech or sermon did the quote originate and now thanks to the King Center, I know.
DR. KING actually combined these two scriptures:
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
from Hebrews 11:1
and…faith without works is dead.
from James 2:20
to create what is one of his many inspirational life lessons.
