Before Andy Warhol rocked pop art in America with his colorful portraits of famous people, MARTIAL RAYSSE used the concept in his work but never quite reached the level of success of Warhol and other pop artists. In the past year, there’s been a well-deserved resurgence of interest in RAYSSE’S pop art and Belle des Nuages, 1965 is one of my favorites from the French pop artist.
