Cat’s Out of the Bag

It’s one of the world’s worst kept secrets that folks from Washington, DC and New York City are buying homes in Virginia’s countryside at a rapid clip, after all its only a few short hours drive down Interstate 95 and offers peace, quiet and relaxation with a cultural aspect that’s hard to match. New York socialite and Vogue contributor, MARINA RUST and her family discovered that fact when they bought a Georgian manor with immaculately landscaped lawns, rolling hills in the distance and a to-die-for swimming pool near Charlottesville. Marina’s home was featured in the August issue of Vogue, so of course I enjoyed getting a sneak peek inside Marina’s home which proved just as splendid with traditional furnishings, custom wallpapers, taxidermy and American antiques. I never thought I’d ever have anything in common with the granddaughter of Marshall Field, but our love for Charlottesville seems to be the common denominator that brought us together.
