Milan Fashion Week Spring 2013

One Look: Fendi

As Milan fashion week winds down, I thought I’d share ‘one look’ from some of my favorite presentations, just like London and New York. Unlike fashion bloggers and critics who get paid to immediately critique each show, I’m finding that I much prefer to digest the collections a bit before I make a final judgement. However, there were some definite squeals of excitement for the Milanese shows and I even surprised myself at how many prints had me gushing! After three cities, the direction of Spring 2013 is becoming pretty clear, so here are my Zavvi Notes:

  • lots of sheer and sheer overlay
  • neutrals, neutrals, neutrals
  • lots of crisp, cool white
  • cropped full and narrow pants
  • layering: long over cropped, long over knee length
  • floral prints and embroidery
  • stripes and geometric prints
  • classic, ladylike styling
  • futuristic silhouettes
  • metallic accents and accessories

The one thing I haven’t seen yet? That one must-have handbag or shoe, although I’m surprised how much I liked the white ankle boot at Jil Sander, they remind me of a drum major and if you’ve ever seen them perform you know they’re the coolest!
