Catherine Kwong

CATHERINE KWONG was the breakout star at this year’s San Francisco Decorator’s Showcase and was featured in House Beautiful in September as a designer to watch, so I was thrilled to discover one of her completed projects in the current issue of California Home + Design.

The featured project is actually the San Francisco loft that Catherine designed for herself and new husband, Brian. In renovating the 1,300 square feet, Catherine focused on details and here’s what I love about the modern meets rustic urban loft.

WHAT I LOVE: The navy + silver striped curtains + sofas covered in Belgian linen.

WHAT I LOVE: Catherine added one-of-a-kind pieces like the wine riddling racks to the dining room wall and enhanced the oak dining table by adding gold leaf to the table legs.

WHAT I LOVE: The kitchen is clutter free and well-appointed with subway tiles + farmhouse sink.

WHAT I LOVE: Decorating the space underneath the stairs in a beautiful way.

WHAT I LOVE: The Ferrous Studios steel firewood container + leather sling chairs.

WHAT I LOVE: The Osborne + Little patterned wallpaper + Carrara marble + over-sized sconces in the powder room.

WHAT I LOVE: The relaxing neutral palette in the master bedroom with framed astronomy maps as artwork.

WHAT I LOVE: Catherine designed a guest bedroom that doubles as Brian’s man cave where he displays his art and listens to music.
