NYFW 2013: Final Favorites
American fashion went back to the future this week showcasing the best of American innovation and spirit.
Throughout the week, 1950s A-line and pencil silhouettes were seen in collections from Jenny Packham to Victoria Beckham. Hints of Cristobal Balenciaga‘s sculptural roundness were also trending perhaps as a wink to Alexander Wang’s upcoming Balenciaga presentation in two weeks?
Dandyism continued to inspire designers who cut day suits for women and innovators like McQ Alexander McQueen offered versions of the spats shoe made famous by Harlem legends, the Nicholas Brothers.
The most forward collections were presented by Marc Jacobs, Proenza Schouler and Alexander Wang who offered intriguing textures simplified into modern shapes to insure effortlessness ease for urban women on the go.
