Japanese One-Pot Cooking

One of my former colleagues who’s from Japan sent me a donabe and cookbook for Christmas challenging me, in the best way, to learn a new style of cooking. A donabe is a Japanese clay pot perfect for one pot meals and since many of the recipes in the cookbook are warm and deliciously broth-based, I’ve committed to trying a new recipe once a month, but maybe more now that we are deep into winter’s polar vortex.
