The Allure of Beauty

Ahhh, the business of beauty.

It seems we’re on a constant journey in search of the fountain of youth. And with magazines beholden to advertisers whose products magically appear in fawning editorials, how can we ever be sure of what really works?

When a friend suggested that I write about beauty, I told her simply that I had gotten out of the game. Don’t get me wrong, I still love a perfectly polished face and my bucket list includes someday sitting in SAM FINE’S or PAT MC GRATH’S make-up chair for a glam session, but I’ve drastically pared down my beauty routine, focusing more on having beautiful skin and less on the latest make-up trends.

However, I’m still shocked at the number of women walking around with the wrong shade of foundation and lipstick, so here are some beauty books and DVDs to insure that you’re beautiful on the inside and out.
