Eat the Season: Apples

applesAPPLES are in abundance right now and with so many varieties its always fun to try different recipes — some cooked, some not cooked — for family and friends. Its been said that an apple a day keeps the doctor away, and while I can’t vouch for that, I can tell you that apples are not only a great snack for anytime of day, but also filled with antioxidants, flavanoids and dietary fiber which help prevent disease. With so many varieties to choose from you’re certain to discover at least one that you love.
