In Venice: Le Palais Contarini

SONY DSC Claude Monet
oil on canvas, 1908

This illuminating work by CLAUDE MONET was sold at auction last month for $30 million! Since I’m obsessed with art in plein air right now I had to share this stunning interpretation of one of Venice’s most iconic buildings. Monet painted Le Palais Contarini during the city’s first Biennale in 1908. Venice was clearly magical then and is still one the world’s sexiest cities and if you ever get the chance to visit, don’t miss it even if its only for a day. It’s one of those experiences you will never forget.
